The Dredgers and I
In the Long Island Sound, a body of water between Long Island and Connecticut, an amateur boat captain is trying to identify a ship that sank in the 1800s. To do so, he and his motley crew of divers must find the bell, embossed with the ship's name. If they succeed, they would write a new chapter in the Sound’s history. But underwater visibility, inclement weather, and a dearth of archival material from the era makes identifying the ship an uphill battle. To make matters worse, time is running out; summer rains threaten to lower visibility even more, and the crew fear that this year may be their last chance.
